There are two issues of which I am compelled to write to you today. One concerns faith based services and the other concerns our families. The practice of government interference in our families has to stop if we are to allow the family unit to survive in this country. Many families have been stripped of their right to raise their families with out due process of law. This is unconstitutional and it has become common practice in our counties. The county attorneys, judges, social workers, psychologists, and caseworkers, practice family decimation; family genocide. The family does not come first and is not preserved when the government interferes. There is no accountability in the family court system, child protective system, or family placement system and therefore these systems drive by what they want not what is best for the family. The families of this nation need your support and without these families this nation can not hope to be great.

Please help us. We are asking for congressional hearings. Our families deserve a chance to survive. This nation deserves a chance to be great again.

Also, I have recently discovered that the Catholic Family Services in my diocese are sixty five percent funded by the government. I am extremely concerned. Their attitudes and services reflect that of the government. This is not what I want as part of my faith community. I for one do not want the government involved in my religion. The government should not dictate the types of services afforded to me by my faith community nor should those services be accountable to the biggest contributor, which is in this case the government. The services should be accountable to the people they serve. I applaud you for the tax refunds in the past and encourage you to continue them because then the people can give to their own faith based services within their communities and these services will be accountable to the people which they serve. If this is not the case those services are useless.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Mary Jo Marceau-Hawthorne
