Subject: Crawford Family

It has brought to our attention that the Crawford family in Washington, PA is being harassed and persecuted by Children, Youth and Families all because their 10 year old son walked 3 blocks to meet his mother at McDonald's. (At this age, I walked 7 blocks to school in Philadelphia every day ALONE and 1 mile to high school !) The little boy is languishing in foster care exhibiting behavior characteristic of a child separated from his family.

Consequently, he has been placed on drugs such Resperdal, remeron, Trazodone and Prozac. The FDA forbids the use of these drugs in children under the age of 12. A pediatrician, with whom we consulted, was aghast, appalled, stunned and horrified over such stupidity as exhibited by the doctor in charge: Dr. Farheen Fahim a Pakistani. Too often, a caseworker's "assessment" of a child is all that is needed to obtain an order from the doctor who never sees the patient. We have documented such cases, some with dire results.

The mother, Vicki Crawford, was told her son now had an ulcer and was going in to see a specialist and have studies done. They refused to allow her to be with her frightened little boy during these procedures.. (Place yourself or your own child in a similar situation. Think how devastating it would be not to have Mommy's arms around you to comfort you.) CYF has been out of control in PA for many years.

The same applies to the rest of the nation. Children have become an industry. For every child the county kidnaps, the federal government funds them. In PA it's approximately $20,000 : $7500 for administrative care, $5000 for child care and the rest....? Because of the inattentiveness of legislators this scourge has been allowed to multiply like Hydra's heads, destroying families and psychologically scarring children forever. It is time that legislators took the bull by the horns and did something for its constituents where constitutional rights are blatantly disregarded to the detriment of families, the back-bone of a nation.

We ask that Senator Spector look into the Crawford's grievous complaints and return their son back to them where he belongs. The pernicious talons of CYF must be clipped. They have become our domestic terrorists. Our neighbor, New Jersey, is in the throes of Child Protective Service chaos. It takes a death to stir things up. Are we next? Are we going to allow the Crawford child to be killed by the Zeolots in the name of " in the best interest of the child"?

While he's reuniting the Crawford family, the senator might consider the Repeal of the Mondale Act of 1974 which gave caseworkers immunity. There are currently 600,000 children in foster care in the U.S. RIGHT NOW. 90% DO NOT BELONG THERE!
